Arts in Action at Vance HS and Martin MS in centered around using technology and creativity to promote environmental justice projects:
Current Projects
-Made by Milk Recycled Art Contest - James Martin art and leadership students have been working hard on an art submission made entirely from milk cartons collected in their school
-The Shoe Box Project - Vance and Martin leaders have worked to collect and decorate shoe boxes to fill with winter survival items for the homeless (ex: gloves, hats, toiletries, snacks, etc.)
-Recycling Poster Competition (Vance HS) - the student that designs the most eye-catching, informational and fun poster about recycling will win a $50 gift-card!

-Recycled Tree Sculpture - students in the Leadership class created a life-size tree sculpture from recycled items found around their school (2012-2013)
-Operation Styrofoam Out PSA - EJC students created a PSA to educate the school district on the dangers of using Styrofoam trays in the cafeteria (2012-2013)
